How To Ask For Good Testimonials

Third party recommendations in the form of testimonials, reviews
and endorsements are marvelous ways by which you could increase
your conversion rate. Persuading people to purchase our
products is made easier by the good words that other people put
out on our behalf, compared to the praises that we would
otherwise state for our own business. Third party
recommendations are more objective by nature, hence, are more
trustworthy for our prospective clients who would see them as
acclaims devoid of ant vested interests and selfish motives.

Third party recommendations have become a necessity for any
online enterprise. In this day and age, conversion rate is of
utmost importance for the success of a business conducted over
the Internet. What would we do with traffic when none of our
website’s visitors would decide to make a purchase, right?

It is therefore equally important to master the process of
soliciting for third party recommendations. Not just any
ordinary testimonials, reviews or endorsements, mind you… but
effective ones. Recommendations from credible sources who are
highly respected in the industry where we are operating.

So how do you go about in garnering these statements that hold
the key to a high conversion rate for your sales page? The
following steps are meant to guide you in the process of
soliciting potent testimonials from very credible names in the
industry.

1. Stick to the subject of your product and survey related
fields. If your product is about wedding dresses, for example,
confine yourself to the general subject of weddings, as well as
relevant areas like event planning, fashions design and the
likes. You wouldn’t want testimonials from dog shop owners,
right?

2. Refer to a directory of people who are operating in the
fields you have researched. Choose your prospects. Normally,
you’d choose those who are already established in their area of
expertise. This is all well and good, but shouldn’t be taken to
mean that testimonials from folks of lesser stature are useless.
Though people will find the recommendations of more established
individuals, they would relate more to what commoners would
share. In this light, everyone could be a prospect, for as long
as they don’t belong to a conflicting industry.

3. Write your prospects a letter, offering for them the free use
of your product in exchange for a testimonial. Be prepared for
some counter-offers, as we can’t assume that we could get
something for free. Commonly, however, they’ll just ask for
their links to be displayed beneath their names in the
testimonial they will submit. The traffic you’d be able to
generate for them would be enough to recompense their efforts.

4. There are times though when your prospects are not confident
about their writing skills, or simply do not have the time to
prepare for you a recommendation. You could offer to ghostwrite
for them instead. Ask for the permission to use their names,
then write a testimonial for your product on their behalf. 
Submit the same to them for their blessings, and once they
approve of it, you could attach their names to what you have
come up with.

5. Do not forget to thank those who would give your product the
highest regards.

Testimonials will surely provide a boost for your online
business. The reliability of your product would be carried by
the credibility of the words shared by those who have testified
to its effectiveness. If marketing is all about putting out the
good word for the goods or services you are selling, then there
are only a few better tactics than making good use of third
party recommendations.

In this industry, a testimonial’s word is indeed gold.
