Testimonials Can Increase Your Conversion Rate!

Convincing your audience to purchase your products is usually
carried out through your sales page. Your sales page, of
course, is that portion of your website where you try to make a
pitch of the benefits that your products can offer for the
potential customer. It is where you enumerate all the features
that can be derived from the use of what you are offering to
sell, as well as all the advantages it could promise for future
owners. You try your best to put out the good word about your
goods so that you’ll be able to persuade the members of your
targeted market that your product is very much worth their hard
earned cash.

But there are many times when you fail. And why is that?

It’s merely attributable to normal human behavior, especially in
dealings that transpire in the World Wide Web. The Internet is
replete with anonymity that is not really ideal for business,
and stigmatized by a long history of security issues and cases
of scam. Your audience can understandably be hesitant about
what you’re offering, and justifiably so.

A great and professionally written sales copy may be able to
hurdle this problem, of course. But there are times when even
such wouldn’t be enough. So what are you supposed to do?

Well, have you tried incorporating third party recommendations
into your sales page?

You see, you could praise your product to high heavens, proclaim
it as the best of its kind in the market, and offer a lot of
accompanying bonuses to make it seem more valuable, but these
are all your words and actions, and your audience might just
find them laden with vested interests. Third party
recommendations are good words from other people who have tried
your product or who have had experiences in dealing with your
business. The high regards that they would state on behalf of
what you’re offering for sale is more believable and convincing
than what you’d be able to say about the same.

Third party recommendations may come in the form of
testimonials, reviews or endorsements. Testimonials are the
more popular variety. They are acclaims from people who have
tried your product and are very satisfied with the same. 
Reviews are examinations made by people who got the chance to
test drive your product and are very much pleased with it that
their study takes on a recommendatory nature. Endorsements are
references from experts who testify to the efficiency and
potency of your goods.

These third party recommendations are more credible for the sole
reason that they are delivered by people who have no interests
on the success or failure of your commercial enterprise. Their
words are not motivated by any financial gain, nor the promise
of a similar benefit in the future. Ask yourself, as a
consumer, whom would you rather believe? A businessman who
speaks highly of his own products? Or previous customers who
are all praises about a particular good or service? The answer
is quite clear, and the necessity of third party recommendations
is firmly established.

But third party recommendations don’t come free. More often
than not, you have to give something back to the person who
would testify, review or endorse your products. Usually, the
free use of your goods would be enough. For others, a discount
on future items would be taken as a sign of good will. For
most, however, their recommendations are an opportunity for them
to advertise their own website through the link that would, and
should, be provided beneath their names. But one thing is
certain, you have to prepare to write them a testimonial, a
review, or an endorsement at some point in the future, when they
will be the ones who would offer products for their respective
markets.

Third party recommendations would provide a wonderful boost for
your business. And in this industry where every advantage
counts, we should not fail to exploit an advantageous tool that
would greatly help our cause.
